Bike Shop Mechanic & Sales Associate

Position Summary

We are seeking a friendly, knowledgeable, and skilled individual to join our team as a Bike Shop Mechanic & Sales Associate. In this dual role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional customer service by assisting customers in selecting the right bicycles, accessories, and gear while also performing high-quality bike maintenance and repairs.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanic Duties:

• Diagnose and repair bicycles, including tuning, assembly, and adjustments.
• Perform regular maintenance, such as brake adjustments, drivetrain cleaning, and tire replacements.
• Build and assemble new bicycles for the sales floor.
• Maintain a clean and organized workshop area.
• Advise customers on repair needs and provide accurate time and cost estimates.

Sales Duties:

• Greet and assist customers in selecting bicycles, accessories, apparel, and components based on their needs and preferences.
• Provide detailed product information to help customers make informed decisions.
• Upsell services, accessories, and maintenance packages when appropriate.
• Handle transactions efficiently, including sales, returns, and exchanges.
• Stay informed about new products, trends, and advancements in cycling.

Customer Service:

• Deliver exceptional customer service, creating a welcoming and positive shopping experience.
• Address and resolve customer inquiries, concerns, or complaints professionally.
• Educate customers on bike care, maintenance, and proper use of equipment.

Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with other team members to achieve sales goals and maintain the store’s performance.
• Assist with inventory management, including restocking and organizing products.
• Participate in store events, group rides, and community outreach programs as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in bike repair and maintenance is required.
• Retail or sales experience, preferably in the cycling industry, is highly valued.
• Strong knowledge of bicycle components, brands, and trends.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working with tools and lifting bicycles.

Work Environment
